PERFORMANCE COURSE SUMMER CONDITONING PROGRAM

Coaches HIGHLY encourage ALL Bronco Tennis players to participate in the McKinney Boyd Summer Workout Program by Performance Course. We have noticed many injuries this year due to the fact that young bodies cannot keep up with such a high level of play on a continous basis. Each of the players will have the opportunity thorugh Performance Course to strengthen their bodies and become better all around athletes which will improve thier tennis game. Peformance Course will focus on both STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING. Becoming stronger in the weight room and gaining more endurance and speed will do nothing but improve each player's game. Please consider signing up to participate in Performance Course this summer in ADDITION to tennnis workouts at various clubs. Belowis the form to sign up!

WINTER PRACTICE ATIRE

All Bronco Tennis players need to make sure that they have a long sleeve shirt/sweatshirt and pants to wear during practices when the weather is cold. MISD policy requires all athletes to have arms and legs covered when practicing in cold temperatures (wind chill of 35 or below). If the wind chill is below 32 we will not be practicing on the courts. This is for PRACTICE only! Any athlete not prepared for practice may lose loss of playing time in duals and tournaments. If arms and legs are not covered in cold temperatures, athletes will NOT practice.

Bronco Tennis. Est. 2006

The Bronco Tennis Team is comprised of about 50 hard working boys and girls who love the game of tennis. As coaches we strive to make the program as fun and memorable as possible while at the same time emphasizing hard work, focus, dedication, and competition. We hope that as players develop through the program that they not only improve the quality of their game, but that they also take with them skills that will help them to be successful and make them champions in life! We believe that each player is a contributor to the program no matter the level of play and that each player is part of the reason for our past, present, and future achievements.

Since the establishment of the program in the fall of 2006, the Bronco Tennis Team has experienced success. In the first year of the program, several players represented the school at the spring regional tournament. In the fall of 2007, the team placed 2nd in District 9-4A and made a showing at the Region II 4A  tournament where they placed 5th, with a year end of ranking of #12 in the state of Texas. This past fall, the Broncos continued success as they moved up to 5A competition. Facing tougher competition, the Broncos continued to find success as they finished 3rd in the district of top state competitors. As we continue to build the program, we look forward to many more successes.
